Our team is based in Helena, Montana and goes back for three generations. My grandfather, Bob Kirkland, raced in the 50's around Montana. My father, Chris Kirkland and my uncle, Stu Kirkland, raced in the 70's. They traveled to Missoula, Great Falls, Billings, Belgrade and Helena with Stu piloting one of the first sprint cars to run in Montana.
I started driving race cars at the age of 17 and have just completed my sixteenth year of racing. My first season, 1997, I drove a Street Stock. In 1998, I drove three race cars...a Street Stock, a Mini Sprint and a Super Stock. In 1999, I made the leap to Late Models and competed in that division for three years. In 2002 I got my first Sprint Car and have continued to race the Kirkland Racing #37 Sprint Car for nine years. We are now one of the top teams in Montana and a former Big Sky Sprints Champion. We have several Feature wins and track championships. In the last few years we have raced throughout the Northwest including Washington, Alberta, Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. In the past we have finished 2nd, 3rd and 5th in ASCS points. This year, our plans are for the #37 Trever Kirkland Sprint Team to contend for the ASCS Frontier Region Championship and compete jn regional shows throughout the Northwest.
